The European Commission has awarded the ''Erasmus Charter for Higher Education 2021–2027'' certificate to the Polytechnic of Rijeka, which will enable the Polytechnic to participate in the activities of the Erasmus+ program in the next period.

Dear Incoming Students,

The beginning of the new academic year at the Polytechnic of Rijeka is planned to be as normal – meaning the lectures will be held in person. The beginning of the new academic year is planned for the beginning of October. A welcome day for all incoming students will be organised on 05. 10. 2021. starting at 12:00 p.m. (address: Vukovarska 58, in hall no. 401).

Please note that it is mandatory to wear a mask on the premises of the Polytechnic of Rijeka!

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, you are strongly advised to consult Polytechnic of Rijeka web regarding the latest procedures on the teaching process. 

Lectures are being organised in the form of consultancies with the selected teachers, according to your personal agreement with them. You will be provided with information on professors (their names, e-mail contacts, and office numbers) and other useful information upon your arrival at Rijeka.

Our Erasmus coordinator and Buddies will help you with the arrival procedures, formalities and paperwork. Through the Buddy project, incoming students get in touch with other students from the Polytechnic of Rijeka. They will help international students adapt to the new context and find their way in the Polytechnic of Rijeka's community.

In case the situation with Covid-19 gets worse, and safety conditions do not allow face-to-face academic, teaching and training activities, direct instructions will be replaced with remote instructions (e.g. email, video conferences, online meetings, telephones). That is, lessons will be held virtually. In this case, students can continue their mobility program even at home by attending lectures online (blended mobility).

Important note! Classes containing practical part that can not be carried out by distance learning will be held live when the circumstances allow it (e.g. distillation, recognition of dry herbal drugs or seeds in the test tubes and other laboratory exercises). Such courses require a physical presence so students should return to Polytechnic of Rijeka to adopt learning outcomes as envisaged and complete their practical obligations in these courses.

If there are no such courses that cannot be carried out online in the Learning Agreement, participants can complete their mobility programme online should restrictions continue due to COVID-19.

Incoming students must verify with their home institution whether academic recognition of the educational activities is granted for blended mobility.
